LAUNCH OF THE MUCH ANTICIPATED POEMS: "I sing of Nkrumah" & "Before 1957"...All dedicated to the memory of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Pan-Africanism

In September this year, poetically yours, "The Village Thinker" will officially launch the much anticipated favourite poems dedicated solely to the memory of Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, "I SING OF NKRUMAH" and "BEFORE 1957".

The "I sing of Nkrumah" poem, is a poem which was written with the sole intent of painting the true personality of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah. The poem embodies the whole traits and the unique characteristics of the man to whom the poem was written.

It engages a retrospective historical analysis of who Nkrumah was and what he actually stood for. It holistically simplifies the beliefs and ideological samplification of Nkrumah. His visions, missions, and
achievements.

It is a poem which takes the reader through a synopsis of the poet's admiration and fondness of Nkrumah. His disappointment about the 1966 coup de' tat which was a connivance of locally architectural plot and global assistance in overthrowing Nkrumah.

Many of our Ghanaian history about Nkrumah have been distorted and particularly for Nkrumah, he has been "demonised" to some extent by people who feel was a torn in their flesh due to his unique identity in terms of Pan-Africanism, Africa's development and the need for Africa to be united.

These and many more bare facts as well as critical scrutiny of who and what embodies Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is what the poet from the village, "The Village Thinker" in the poem, "I sing of Nkrumah" will unravel when the poem gets launch in September to commemorate the birthday of Kwame Nkrumah. It will later on be preceded by it "spoken word".

It is the wish of the poet that, in this same month for commemorating Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, he will get the opportunity or the privilege to read and perform this same poem on the various platforms which deem fit this month as so.

As part of the launch, one Pan-Africanist poem, "Before 1957" shall also be launched.

It is also a comprehensive historical poem which takes a critical look at the journey and the various modalities adopted by Nationalists in "British West Africa", that is Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, and Sierra Leone to break the chains of colonial tendencies and to gain independence.

This poem is divided into two sections dubbed: Part1: Nationalism before World War II (Proto) and then Part 2: Nationalism after World War II (Militant) Both parts of the poem will help the reader to identify and to come to a realisation the various means through which independence came into being.

It also harmonises the various institutions and the heroes from these countries who struggled to pave way for their nations to later gain independence which took wheels from 1957 in Ghana.

—here is a short extract to whet your itchy tongues and ears —

"I sing of Nkrumah"
I,
a Village Thinker,
standing under the forest of "Oduma"
sing of you
'O Nkrumah....

Nkrumah was a soothsayer
his visions contradicted
the visions of others
he grew fierce like a virgin fire
set to the tale of the desert
when he felt

"Africa must be united"......
