AM A CHOSEN- NDC CHAIRMAN AT BUNKPURUGU

The Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bunkpurugu Constituency, Hon John Yenukwah Champion has stated that he is a chosen.

Hon John Champion made this statement after he emerged the Winner of a keenly contested constituency election in the Bunkpurugu constituency of the NDC party.

Hon John Y. Champion pulled 97 votes, leaving Hon Ali Lachir with 90 votes, Hon Samson Kok with 81 votes and Hon Osman Konlan attracting 3 votes.

According to the Second time elected NDC Constituency Chairman, he is a chosen by God to lead the NDC into victory for the 2016 general elections. He told this reporter that, the NDC in the Bunkpurugu constituency have learnt lesions after they lost the Parliamentary seat to the NPP for the first time in the history of politics in the area, he assured party faithful of his commitment to work sturdily with the new team elected (party executives) for victory come elections.

He added and I quote , I want you the media to put in your records that, by the grace of GOD and the strong force of the new team I have today, NDC would re-captured our seat in the Bunkpurugu constituency which we rented to the NPP for just 4years during the 2012 elections. Let me also notify that, as for President John Dramani Mahama, he has already won the 2016 elections, we are only waiting for the time to come for him to be sworn in again.

Let me however thank my colleagues who contested with me and plead with you to join me as party faithful for as to work together in the spirit of AKATAMANSONIA. Each of you has something that, I don't have and the only way is for us to move in a single vehicle. John Y. Champion added.

The rest of the Winners are, for Vice Chairmanship Position, Hon Paul Slim pulled 158 votes, leaving Hon Daam Kombat with 113 votes. For Secretary Position, Hon James Ajaboah Azumah pulled 110 votes, leaving Hon Jinjong James Bateman with 86 and Hon Konlanbik Amadu Timothy with 74 votes. For Deputy Secretary Position, Hon Laar James Kabanu went an opposed.

For Ogerniser Position, Hon Kombat Nangpaak pulled 205 votes, leaving Hon Kombat Isaac Naapukin with 74 votes. For Deputy Ogerniser Position, Hon Konlanbik Isaac Migbir pulled 144 votes, leaving Hon Bonga Samoaka with 126 votes. For Treasurer Position, Hon Tahiru Jagong pulled 172 votes, leaving Hon Laar Vasco with 49 and Hon Dubik Samuel Yenuman with 42 votes. For Deputy Treasurer Position, Hon Bioanin Daka pulled 129 votes, leaving Hon Sanatu Abdulai with 90 votes and Hon Laar Edward Kansakit with 41 votes. For Youth Ogerniser Position , Hon Binbintir Isaac pulled 39 votes , leaving , Hon Nyakpaab Mathew Biyar with 21 votes , Hon Laar Mathew Duakib with 9 votes , Hon Laar Evans Dramani with 2 votes and Hon Bateebin Simon with.. For Deputy Youth Orgerniser Position, Hon Yuakin Laar Kanatin pulled 37 votes, leaving Hon Labik John Dubik with 33 votes. For Propaganda Position, Hon Moisob Ephrem Bidobi pulled 167 votes, leaving Babont Yenu with 97 votes. For Deputy Propaganda Position, Hon Kpiirika Jatuat pulled 139 votes, leaving Hon Konlan Peter Binakin 132 votes. For Women Organizer Position, Hon Ali Rachia pulled 35 votes; Hon Forkinam Lardi pulled 35 votes and Hon Kennedy Cecilia Konlan with 1 vote. For Deputy Women Organizer Position, Hon Moni Bilonin pulled 41 votes ,leaving Hon Mary Nambiir with 26 votes. Eight members were elected for the Executive Member Position, to assist the constituency party executive in the growth of the NDC party.

This year's election took place at Nakpanduri , the event sow the presence of the NDC Regional Executive led, by the Regional Chairman Chief Sofo Azoka, the Hon DCE for the area , Hon Philip Laari , the current formar Member of Parliament for the Bunkpurugu constituency Hon Duut Kwame , some diplomatic members of the NDC in the area who were present are Hon Duut Bonchel Abulai , Hon Fuzzy Kombat , Hon Dibert Yenube and others.

The event as described by some of the delegates was the most peaceful and successful constituency elections ever conducted.

A member of the Concern Youth group of the NDC, Hon Duut Jacob, in an interview express that, the outcome of the elections is a clear sign of majority of democracy. Jacob revealed that, the peaceful nature of the congress is a contribution made strongly by the Concern Youth before, during and after. I must point out to that, there was no winner and loser, NDC won and that is what must be in the minds of everyone. He added.

Hon Duut Jacob finally appealed to members of CY-NDC on the whatsapp platform; desist from making comments that would mar the unity of the group and the NDC party at large. The results are however provisional.
