Harare (AFP) - Hashim Amla took charge of South Africa for their triangular series clash with Zimbabwe in Harare on Friday as AB de Villiers sat out following his exertions against Australia.

De Villiers suffered from severe cramp during his innings of 136 not out on Wednesday, which saw South Africa score a seven-wicket win over Australia, and was not risked for the game against Zimbabwe.

Fast bowlers Morne Morkel and Wayne Parnell were also left out, as Rilee Rossouw, Aaron Phangiso and Kyle Abbott came into the side.

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first, and made two changes of their own.

Brian Vitori came in for Tinashe Panyangara following his expulsion from the Zimbabwe squad, while Malcolm Waller replaced wicketkeeper-batsman Richmond Mutumbami, leaving Brendan Taylor to take the gloves.

Teams:

Zimbabwe: Tino Mawoyo, Sikandar Raza Butt, Hamilton Masakadza, Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams, Elton Chigumbura (capt), Malcolm Waller, Prosper Utseya, John Nyumbu, Tendai Chatara, Brian Vitori.

South Africa: Hashim Amla (capt), Quinton de Kock, Faf du Plessis, Rilee Rossouw, David Miller, JP Duminy, Ryan McLaren, Dale Steyn, Kyle Abbott, Aaron Phangiso, Imran Tahir.
