Vodafone Foundation free healthcare initiative hits Koforidua

Through its year-long initiative, HealthFest, Vodafone Ghana Foundation will provide a free healthcare to the people of Koforidua and its surrounding communities on Friday, 29th August, 2014 at the Koforidua Jackson Park.

The programme is expected to provide over 500 people free medical screening and advice, and free medication for specific diseases. Apart from the medical screening, the Foundation will also create a Gym and Aerobics section to give advice and promote healthy lifestyle and wellbeing in the community.

So far, over 2,000 people have benefitted from HealthFest, which is a yearlong initiative introduced by the Vodafone Foundation to offer free quality healthcare to rural communities within the country to improve access to quality healthcare.

According to the Foundation, the initiative aims to improve lives in deprived communities in the country, adding that it is passionate about championing health issues in the country.
