The New Patriotic Party Steering Committee is set to refer to its disciplinary committee for resolution, the incidence of violence witnessed at the [arty's headquarters last week.

At a crunch closed-door meeting held in the party's head quarters, Monday, members of the Steering Committee made up of the National Executive Committee, Chairman of the Council of Elders and the Minority Leader resolved to settle their issues amicably.

The meeting was necessitated by a week of internal wrangling, accusations and counter accusations by leading members of the party which eventually culminated in the invasion of the party headquarters by machete-wielding young men who had threatened to assault the party chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

Joy News' Joseph Opoku Gakpo who is following the developments in the NPP said almost all the members of the committee attended the meeting, except two who are outside the country.

He quoted sources as saying the steering committee members discussed the modalities for the upcoming super delegates conference to prune the number of presidential candidates from seven to five.

The members are yet to agree on the venue for the electoral college and other minor details that will go into the election.

The Super Delegates Conference is scheduled for August 31.
