UPSA to launch Annual Accountability Summer School

The Centre for Public Accountability at the University of Professional Studies, Accra will, on Tuesday August 26, 2014 roll-out its maiden Annual Accountability Summer School programme.

The week-long programme which is aimed at developing the capacities of key public sector leaders and managers, is expected to be attended by Senior Public Servants, Directors of Ministries, Parliamentarians, Chief Executives of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies, Coordinating Directors, Heads of Educational Institutions, District and Regional Directors of Education, Budget, Planning and Finance Officers.

Participants will deliberate on current issues confronting the Public Sector Financial Management Systems in Ghana and develop time-bound solutions to be administered in their institutions. Other issues that are of social, environmental and economic importance to the attainment of good and accountable governance will feature prominently in the training programme.

A formal opening ceremony will be held at the University's main Auditorium at 09:00am to launch the Summer School which will take place during the month of August every year. The registered participants will begin the 4-day training programme soon after the ceremony.
