I share in Dr. K. Arthur Kenedy's sentiments about the recent happenings in the NPP as a political party. And I also agree with Dr. Arthur Kenedy that Ghanaians need a viable alternative to the NDC. It is true that the NPP should be that viable alternative. However, the nasty and avoidable divisive acts by some people in the NPP are costly and could post a threat to the party's success.

Upon all these concrete and genuine observations made by Dr. Arthur Kenedy, I personally think he has reduced himself to a negative propagandist which is alien to the party. Dr. Arthur Kenedy's false and baseless accusation of Nana Add Dankwa Akufo- Addo as being behind the clashes on Tuesday raises questions about Arthur Kenedy's objectivity.

Without searching archives, stream of evidence abounds to the fact that Nana Addo, Mr. Alan Kyerenaten and other respected people in the party have publicly condemned all acts of violence happening now and in the past. Many people including myself are worried about the kind of impunity that Dr. Arthur Kenedy enjoys from the elders of the party.

Why would he always run to the media with the sole motive of painting Nana Addo black? I have reason to belief that Dr. Arthur Kenedy has a grand scheme to run down Nana Addo. If this is true, my advice is for Dr. Arthur Kenedy to stop, because all machinations against Nana Addo are dead on arrival.

Dr. Arthur Kenedy remains my mentor as he continues to inspire me. But on this occasion his baseless accusation is below the belt and does not reflect his stature as he always want us to believe. Yes! It is true that free speech is the mark of the NPP and Dr. Arthur Kenedy and all members of the party have always use it. However, what Dr. Kenedy must be told is that free speech goes with responsibility. He has consistently poured his anger on Nana Addo with the least opportunity.

This is not to suggest that Nana Addo is “god” and must not be criticized. But it is painful to accuse someone of something without any shred of evidence. This act at best can be seen as hypocrisy. People like Dr. A.K.Kenedy should know that their words carry weight. And they must direct their efforts at what unite the party than this unsubstantiated accusation.

I do not underestimate the challenges that the party currently faces. There is nothing very important to every member of the NPP but unity. As the party tries to surmount these challenges attention must be given to the fact that the NDC is watching and enjoying the stupidity in the NPP. Not only that, the NDC also galvanizes support and tries to cover its incompetence by hyping the inanity within the NPP.

It is true that the NPP is dominated by people who behave like the tropical bird-the parrot. They cannot simply keep information in-house. Their mouths are wide-open waiting for any microphone to speak. While some people in the NPP enjoy the nonsense, they must be reminded that their actions cause a lot of disaffection among the grass root supporters. They create serious challenges for those who really run the NPP campaign in the hinterlands as they spend precious time to defend this kind of garbage.

Today, it is Nana Addo and it would be someone else's term in the years to come. If the show of power within the party does not cease and causes the party in the 2016 general elections then well meaning people in the NPP who wish to remain in politics may have to think again.

I humbly appeal to all NPPs to remain calm and focus. Ghanaians need viable alternative to the NDC.
