Arthur Paes giving the money to Zianab Abukari, mother of the boy as little Majid and hospital officials look on

Arthur Paes, owner of African Royal Beach Hotel, Nungua, has presented an amount of GH¢8000 to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to enable little Majid Karim to undergo definitive surgery to correct his oesophageal stricture condition.

The donation by Mr Paes to the KATH management over the weekend would enable the six-year-old boy from Atronie near Sunyani in the Brong-Ahafo Region live a normal life again after four years of having to be fed through tubes inserted into his abdominal wall because of his condition.

This kind gesture by the benevolent man follows DAILY GUIDE's publication on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 about Majid's

condition.
In the publication, Dr Michael Amoah, a paediatric surgeon at the KATH said little Majid urgently needed the amount to be able to undergo the surgery colonic by passreplacing the structured oesophagus with a colon.

His mother Zianab Abukari, a peasant farmer, was not able to raise the amount for the surgery and therefore appealed to the public to help her son.

Mr Paes, who is also the development chief at the Aflao Soma-ei in the Volta Region, said the publication in the newspaper touched him to support the boy.
