The National Democratic Congress says it is ready to offer free consultancy to calm the stormy waters in the troubled New Patriotic Party.

National Organiser of the NDC Yaw Boateng Gyan told Joy News' Evans Mensah the NDC has vast experience in resolving issues of violence and is ready to send emissaries to the NPP to help solve their internal wrangling.

The New Patriotic Party had made the headlines over the week following reports the chairman of the party Paul Afoko and his General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong were hijacking the party and taking unilateral decisions.

On Tuesday things got worse when machete wielding supporters invaded the party head quarters swearing to attack the two leaders.

The supporters were warded off by guards at the HQ and later by the police who managed to restore calm.

In the heat of the confrontation, party chairman, Paul Afoko accused the NDC of being behind the invasion.

That allegation has angered the governing party.
Boateng Gyan said the comments by Paul Afoko were "unfortunate" disturbing and coming from a "frustrated leader" in a turbulent party.

He said unlike the NPP which mocked the NDC when it was going through similar challenges, the NDC now has the experience and was ready to offer wise counsel to help resolve the crisis in the NPP.

"They must co-exist and stop the violence," he stressed and called on the police to investigate the matter.
