BRONG AHAFO BUSINESS AND INVESTMENT CONFERENCE

By Edward Anane
BRONG AHAFO BUSINESS AND INVESTMENT CONFERENCE
20.08.2014 LISTEN

Brong Ahafo Region is yet to make a significant impact under the Investment Act (Act 475) since its implementation 20 years ago in spite of its enormous natural resources. The region is one of the regions with less than one per cent investment projects together with Northern, Upper East and West regions under the Act.

Ghana Investment Promotion Center, GIPC, has reported that lack of free flow of information from the region to GIPC on investment opportunities had contributed to the low percentage recorded.

The Brong Ahafo Investment Conference seeks to bring together the region's most dominant corporate players in Agric and agro processing, mining, forestry, tourism and other businesses, particularly small and medium-scale enterprises to network and plan.

The theme for this Conference will be “Projecting the Resource Potential of Brong Ahafo Region for Accelerated Development.”

The Conference will be organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Catholic University. The Conference will also be attended by entrepreneurs, traditional rulers, private sector, and Ghana Tourist Board.

According to Mr Edward Twum Anane, a lecturer and Manager of the Conference, activities expected to be lined up for the Conference will include exhibition of products and services, an investment and entrepreneurial development seminar, and business executive breakfast meeting.

The Conference is expected to be held in November 2014 in Sunyani.
