Ghana has joined the league of greater speed internet and data transfer following the successful commercial launch of Surfline Ghana, Tuesday.

With a 4G (Fourth Generation) Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, Surfline becomes undoubtedly the fastest mobile technology with a robust data centric network, threatening to outperform all existing networks in the country.

At a short but exquisite launching ceremony in Accra, which saw the plush offices and show room of Surfline opened, first to the media personnel and later to customers,  Dr Yaw Akoto, Chief Executive Officer of the company said the wholly owned Ghanaian telecom company is a fascinating story of Ghanaian determination and willingness to provide quality internet services to all across the globe.

"As Ghanaians ourselves, we believe that people living and working in Ghana deserve the best.

"Across the world, people are enjoying super-fast internet speeds powered by 4G LTE and Surfline is proud to bring this into Ghana for the first time and for Ghanaians to experience the difference this brings."

Surfline is promising a speed "ten times faster than other mobile operators and internet service providers" - one that will be able to download a two hour movie whilst taking a shower, he indicated.

Dr Akoto said John Taylor, founder of Surfline began the dream in 2011 and with great partnership with leading global giants like Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Alcatel-Lucent, a world class 4G LTE network is born in Ghana.

He was hopeful that the company will continue its pioneering role to provide the best quality service to its customers.

Marketing Director of the company Rosy Fynn said the new technology was not only fast but accessible, efficient and affordable.

She announced a tasty limited offer of free device and double bonus for life for all new customers.

The technology is currently accessible to residents in Accra and Tema, with a promise of a nationwide coverage in the next few years.

Surfline prides itself for being a network that makes users "work faster, play harder, study longer" and can be used for all gadgets.

Superior quality
Communication Minister, Edward Omane Boamah said the Surfline is undoubtedly a superior network to the existing networks.

"If  for nothing at all, by arithmetic interpretation, the 4G should be better and faster than the 2G and 3G networks available," he noted.

The minister was quick to point out the many complaints about the poor quality of service by some of the networks, saying, users are not obliged to stay in a marriage, if their complaints go unsolved.

Dr. Boamah called for better investment and implored officials of Surfline to take advantage of the fibre optic cable infrastructure the government is putting in place.

The ocassion was also used to unveil the flagship shop in Osu. Journalists and other invited guests were taken round the showroom to experience at first hand, the superior qualities of Surfline.
