JN Money Transfer, one of the leading Caribbean remittance brands, with presence in 13 countries and over 8,000 locations, will be hosting a business conference in Manchester, in the United Kingdom, to sensitise small business owners about the opportunities that to diversify their product offerings.

The conference, organised by JN Money Services (JNMS), a subsidiary of Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), will focus primarily on the benefits to be derived from becoming a Ghana moneyJN Money Transfer Agent; and, is scheduled to take place at the Kings House Conference Centre, King's Church, Sidney Street, Manchester, on Wednesday August 27, 2014, starting at 6:00 p.m.

“This event presents an opportunity for small business operators to learn more about the remittance industry; and how, an added business venture, such as remittance sales, can boost their primary business by increasing their network of contacts in their respective communities,” said Leesa Kow, General Manager of JN Money Services.

She explained that the main presentation will be delivered by Marcellus Lindsay, business coach, consultant and author, who has more than 25 years of experience in management and leadership. He has extensive knowledge working with organisations to “systemize and optimize their business for scalable and accelerated growth,” she stated.

Mr. Lindsay will speak on the topics: “Increase footfall, Increase Your Profit: Three Steps for More Success” and “Partnerships for Profit: How to use Joint Ventures to Grow your Business.”

Miss Kow pointed out that remittance is a viable business venture; and, the most tangible evidence of its effect is reflected in migration patterns and the impact of remittance flows in developing countries.

She quoted World Bank statistics, which indicates that, “remittances account for more than US$400 billion globally in terms of inflows to the developing world.” And she noted that “Jamaica, for instance, received more than US$2 billion in remittances in 2013.”

Paulette Sterling, Territory Manager, UK, said that outside of the benefits to be gained from partnering with the JN Money Transfer brand, some participants will have the opportunity to highlight their businesses enterprise; and to participate in business coaching sessions. And, on demonstrating an interest in becoming Agents, will be able to access two business coaching sessions with Mr, Lindsay.

“In addition, as part of our introductory incentive, new Agents will be assisted in the creation of one advertisement for their business, which will include the JN Money Transfer brand,” Miss Sterling explained.
