Vice chairman of the Ghana Referees Association Joe Debrah has responded to former Black Stars striker Tony Yeboah's claims of corrupt officiating in the country, challenging him to substantiate his allegations.

The former Hamburg star, who is the owner and bank roller of Yegola FC, last week claimed he had lost count of the number officials who troop to his hotel to ask of bribe before games involving his team.

This according to him was detrimental to the development of the game, Debrah who is the Vice president of the referees association in Ghana has debunked those allegations.

“I am very shocked with Tony's false allegations because this is the second time I've heard him spreading lies about referees in Ghana,” Debrah said.

“When his team was in the third-tier, he made such allegations after failing to qualify to the second-tier during the middle league playoffs, but seasons later, he qualified, and I wanted to ask him if this time too referees took bribe before his team gained promotion.

“Who are those referees he has been talking about that come to him to lobby for a fair officiating? Iwill dare him to mention the names of these people.”
