Mcottley Holdings Limited, a multi-sectoral financial and managerial services provider, recently celebrated its one year of operations in Ghana at a plush ceremony at Dzorwulu, Accra.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of McOttley Holdings, Kwesi Livingstone, in a welcome address, said his outfit had achieved Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certification within its first-year of operation.

Only few companies in Ghana have been able to meet the requirements and received certified.

Explaining further, he noted: 'In terms of our vision to be a global brand, we've been able to get a number of international recognitions. We've had a CIMA certification. And as a CIMA quality partner, you must have gone through a lot of checks and certified that your processes, your management style, your people have the right skills and your standard is global standard.'

Only seven companies in Ghana have had the privilege to be given such a prestigious certification.

'So having this certification within first year of operation, tells you the kind of management style, the kind of people, the processes, the risk management and all the things that we have including the good corporate governance.'

Mr. Livingstone thanked the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as Bank of Ghana (BoG) for guiding McOttley Holdings this far.

McOttley Holdings has three subsidiaries-  McOttley Capital Limited, McOttley Money Lending Limited and McOttley Properties Limited.

Former Chief Operating Officer of UT Group, Captain (rtd) Budu Koomson, in a solidarity message to the company, described the average Ghanaian worker as a lazy person who would cheat customers and employees at the least opportunity.

He therefore advised management of McOttley Holdings to build teams in a way that will ensure certain peculiar values were instilled in each team mate.

'I'll advise don't employ people; that's the easiest thing you can do, but grow teams, grow a family away from a family where every family is linked together in some sort of values and beliefs. If you took the average Ghanaian worker, I can tell you he's lazy, a liar and he'll cheat you at the least opportunity.'

The Board Chairman of McOttley Capital Limited, Ambassador Kabral Blay Amihere, Board Chairman for McOttley Holdings, Dr. Ken Kwaku and Hassan Ayariga, 2012 presidential candidate of PNC, among other business people, were in attendance.

Richard Dugan is the Executive Director of the group.
