'I got you': Sally Pearson delivers parting shot to Eric Hollingsworth

The Australian star became embroiled in a stoush with national athletics coach Hollingsworth, who is set to be sacked and was shamed after releasing a press release damning Pearson hours before her 100m hurdles heats in Glasgow.

Pearson won Friday's final in 12.67 seconds, and she lashed out at Hollingsworth after the victory.

"My case was so less severe than anyone else's [case] on the team, there are so many stories, I'm not going to name any names, but everyone has copped a lot of crap," said Pearson.

"I'm so glad that I really didn't have to lift a finger to get him off the team. I think that is the most important thing, to get rid of the negativity people have been having to bare for the last five years.

"Our whole room was very excited and that is really disappointing for a high performance coach to give so much relief to athletes when you walk out the door."

Pearson revealed she and Hollingsworth became strangers to one another since their verbal altercation at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland, despite the coach remaining a vital part of the athletics team heading to Glasgow.

"I haven't spoken to him since world indoors," she said.

"It's sad because I guess I was probably the last supporter he had on the Australian team and he messed that up himself by really, I don't really know what word to use, but I felt really put down.

"He spoke down to me very harshly I thought at the time and I am the sort of person who if you are going to treat me like that you're not going to get much respect after it."
