On Saturday, July 19, 2014 a cross-section of the leadership and members of the NPP-Columbus Chapter led by the Chapter Chairman, Dr. Alexander Y. Adusei, Jr. visited the Masjid of the Gaskia Association of Columbus (GAC) to break the fast and seek prayers and guidance forGod's favor for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections. Fruits were in abundance as the faithful broke their fast and dinner was also served as spiritually engaged conversations ensured.
Gaskia Association of Columbus, a non-partisan, non-doctrinal, and non-profit community organization of Ghanaian Muslims is located on the east side of Columbus, at 2892Noe Bixby Road, off Refugee Road. The membership of this Muslim community includes individuals from every region of Ghana. The main objective of this eclectic group is to unite Ghanaian Muslims in order to encourage and nurture acceptable religious behavior among themselves and their children so as to foster a positive image of Islam and Ghana.
In appreciation of the warm reception received from members present at an earlier visit, the NPP-Columbus Chapter presented assorted drinks and food items to Gaskia Association and numerous prayers were said for the unity of our nation, ethnic groups and religions. A special prayer was asked for quality leadership and sustainable development for Ghana considering the hardships festering in Ghana. To this we say, Eid-Mubarak.
In attendance was the chairman of the NPP Columbus Chapter - Dr. Alexander Y. Adusei, Jr. ,General Secretary, Nii Okaija Bishoff, and a member, Alhaji Osumanu Sulley.
Professor Ousman Murzik Kobo (former President and spokesman, Gaskia Association), Abdul Atiik Abukari (Interim Vice-President, Gaskia Association), Musah Abubakar (Assist.Secretary, Gaskia Association), Rashid Shaibu and FarukMoctar(Gaskia Association's Financial Secretary and Assistant Financial Secretary respectively) among others.
