'Prophets Must Be Humble'

Bishop Emmanuel Ellison, General Overseer of The Holy Abundant Grace Ministry at Kansaworodo in Sekondi-Takoradi, has called on prophets and prophetesses in the country to desist from using their positions to abuse their church members.

He also charged them to lead modest lives and discharge their duties effectively.

Bishop Ellison also appealed to the clergy not to shirk their responsibility at home, stressing that 'the prophetesses should not starve their husbands under the guise of being in spirit.'

Bishop Ellison Bishop Ellison, who is also the President of the Christina Charismatic Churches of Ghana, was speaking at the ordination of two female members of the church.

The two prophetesses, Dorcas Hackman and Elizabeth Micah, were consecrated after undergoing training.

He called on the prophetess to work to assuage pain and bring hope to the people.

General Overseer of The Holy Abundant also called on the two prophetesses not to only help the congregation to grow in faith but win souls for Christ.

'You have to sacrifice for the members, try to notice their problems as shepherds, motivate them, encourage and counsel them when necessary and intercede for the congregation,' he added.

The bishop also urged them not to be involved in anything untoward that could dent the image of the church.

He appealed to them to resist the yeaning for wealth and fame and eschew arrogance, saying 'do not go out there to do anything, which is not part of what you were trained to do since it could lead you into trouble.'

He appealed to their families and the church in general to continue to support the new prophetesses with prayers to enable them to stay focused on the task of spreading the gospel and winning souls for Christ.
