According to the traditional ruler, education has a wide range of  benefits, especially in terms of health, civic engagement and subjective wellbeing, asserting that educated people tend to live longer.

The chief made the call when he cut sod for work to commence on one of government's 50 new Community Day Senior High Schools at Fumso in the Adansi North District of the Ashanti Region, saying that the initiative would make every child to access secondary education.

When completed, it would be the first SHS for the people of Fumso and other surrounding communities.

John Cobbina Horn's Construction Company Limited is constructing the Fumso Community Day SHS building.

Deputy Minister of Education, Alex Kyeremeh, said the two-storey building comprised a 24-unit classroom block, a computer laboratory, offices and toilet facilities.

According to him, the Fumso SHS formed part of government's first batch of 50 new schools to be built across the country as part of the 200 new community day SHS promised by President Mahama.

He asked Ghanaians not to allow politics to divide them, and called for support for government's policies and programmes in order to bring about development and improve on the quality of life of Ghanaians.

He said that Ghana's development hinged on the state of mind of the citizenry, and called on all to desist from polarising national issues.
