Junior Camp Ghana (JCG) is a program by the GhanaThink Foundation, an NGO based in both USA and Ghana, that has been engaging the minds of numerous students in the regions of Ghana since its inception in 2013.

Junior Camp Ghana was birthed when Nathaniel Alpha, who is currently the Team Lead, initiated the maiden event at Keta Senior High School after participating in 'BarCamp Tema 2012'. This event was beneficial to 500 Ketasco students. Since then, 200 students of Kalpohin Senior High School, 200 students of St. Augustine's College (2 events), 98 students of Dumasua Junior High School, 126 students of Armed Forces Senior High School, 1200 students of Krobo Girls Senior High School, and 240 students of Takoradi Senior High School have had their ride on the JCG Train; not forgetting the 97 students who attended the event we partnered with Ahaspora Young Professionals on in December.

The JCG program is a career mentoring series in High Schools which allows industries and persons to share their stories, experiences and knowledge with students. The program also connects students with mentors who provide their wisdom about their areas of expertise, management, leadership skills, career success factors, industry insights, communication skills. Through the program, students are inspired to match similar career goals, concentration and career fields.

All events are free at no cost to the students, to ensure that they derive maximum benefits from the program. Even though Junior Camp Ghana is centered around Career Guidance and Counselling, we encourage mentees to come out with ideas to solve problems within and without their school communities. Junior Camp Ghana's theme is 'Living Tomorrow's Career Today'.

The GhanaThink Foundation seeks to mobilize and organise talent and resources in the service of Ghana. JCG events are workshops that seek to provide interaction, networking, and career guidance to high schools. JCG targets youth between the ages of 12-19 years to provide them career guidance and counseling, expose them to multiple career paths and opportunities as well as connecting them with mentors that have inspiring stories to tell. JCG is inspiring change in tomorrow's leaders today.

We are currently receiving invitations from senior and junior high schools to organise a Junior Camp on their campus. Reach us via our facebook page Junior Camp Ghana on Facebook and/or our email [email protected].
