The Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB) has presented a cash donation to support Ghana's National Chief Imam, His Eminence Dr. Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu for his continue support to the poor and needy in the Ghanaian society.

'GFZB over the past few years had endeavored to extend a hand of felicitation to the National Chief Imam inorder to assist him, as he has been extending his love and compassion to the poor, needy, aged, children and the vulnerable in the society in general,' the Investor Support Services Manager of GFZB, Hajia Hanatu Abubakar, has said.

The GFZB, according to Hajia, went to the Chief Imam's house to replicate what they have been doing over the years but this time around decided to act succinctly and particularly, during the festive period of the Edi al-Fitr.

The world's 1.6 billion Muslims celebrated the festival of Eid al-Fitr, one of the biggest religious events in the Islamic calendar on Monday 28th July this year.

But Hajia, who is also the founder and President of the Al-Hayaat Foundation,which places much premium on the less-privileged in the Ghanaian society indicated that the Eid al-Fitr is a festival occasion which is celebrated for a period of three days in every Muslim community.

Hajia Hanatu explained that the main reason for donating the cash item to the National Chief Imam was because of how people, during the month of Ramadan, troop into presence of His eminence Chief Imam's residence to source some food items and other support.

Therefore, the GFZB has presented a cash cheque (details unannounced) on the third day of the Ramadan climax to assist the Chief Imam to extend his compassionate and love-kindness to the very needy ones in the society.

The Investor Support Services Manager of GFZB, Hajia Hanatu Abubakar urged every Ghanaian businessman, entrepreneurs and potential investors to acquire the freezones status.

According to her, this will enable them export of more their products through value addition that will also increase export promotion rather exporting the raw materials.

'Ghana stands to have an entrenched position in adding value to its raw materials,' Hajia stated.

Meanwhile, she has demystified that the Ghana Free Zones Board does not operates as a hub for only foreign investments however, the Ghana Free Zones programmes allows both foreign and domestic companies to establish their businesses to produce more and manufacture for export.

Hajia added that about 40-50% of the registered freezones companies are made up of Ghanaian indigenous companies.

National Chief Imam, Dr. Sheik Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has expressed his profound gratitude to the representatives of the GFZB for their kind gesture shown over the years.

Dr. Sheik Osmanu Sharubutu, is also a member of the National Peace Council and the founder of the SONSETFund and IPASEC, and the live patron of the Javsalynn Foundation.
