A 44-YEAR-old suspected fraudster, Felicia Okobea, who has been on police wanted list for a year, has finally been arrested by the police.

Okobea aka Serwaa was grabbed with Richard Osei Bonsu aka Adepa at Odorkor, Accra.

The two, together with one Nana Adjei aka Nana Poku or Burger and Prince, defrauded a couple to the tune of GH¢30,000 under the pretext of selling a Sprinter van to them.

Nana Adjei and Prince, who are currently on the run, are being hunted by the police.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE, Chief Superintendent Abraham Acquaye, the Odorkor District Police Commander, said several fraudulent cases involving the suspects had been reported to the police.

Early July this month, a couple lodged a complainant at the police station that the suspects- Felicia Okobea, Richard Osei Bonsu, Nana Adjei and one Prince had defrauded them to the tune of GH¢30,000.

According to the complainants, on March 18, 2014, Prince informed them that he would assist them to buy a Sprinter bus.

Prince then took them to a garage at Dome, near Kwabenya to inspect some of the Sprinter buses.

Upon reaching the garage,Prince introduced Richard Osei Bonsu to them as the owner of the garage and after inspecting one of the buses, they went ahead to negotiate with him.

After settling on the price of GH¢30,000, Osei Bonsu called Nana Adjei, a man he claimed was the owner of the bus, to inform him about the development.

Nana Adjei, who said he was out of town, directed the complainants to pay the money to Serwaa, his supposed wife whom he claimed was on admission at the Amasaman Government Hospital. Prince asked the couple and Osei Bonsu to go and pay the money to Nana Adjei's wife at the hospital.

On reaching the hospital, Serwaa, who was lying on one of the beds, received the money and also directed Osei Bonsu to release the car to the complainants.

On the way back to the garage, Osei Bonsu told the couple to wait for him at the frontage of a house for him to retrieve the key and documents covering the car from the room. The suspect never returned and when the complainant visited the garage to pick the car, the owners told them Osei Bonsu was not staff.

Upon a tip-off, the suspects were apprehended on July 18, 2014 at Weija with the help of the Weija police. In their caution statements, the suspects admitted to the offence and would be processed for court soon.
