The regional women organizer caucus of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lauded president John Mahama for the recent reshuffle of his government.

According to the group the inclusion of stalwart, Dr.Ekow Spio-Gabrah has indeed rekindled the spirit of the NDC which was somewhat gradually falling in the doldrums.

Spokesperson of the regional women organizers wing of the party, Nana Takyiwa Odeneho, explained in a press statement that the capabilities of Dr.Spio-Gabrah cannot be overlooked in attempts to bring governance and development to the doorstep of the Ghanaian citizen.

''We know what Spio-Gabrah is capable of doing. He's done it before and we have confidence in him that he can deliver in president Mahama's government. Once a minister who held several challenging portfolios in president Rawlings' administration we have no doubt that he will bring his rich experience to bear as he comes on board'', the statement said.

The statement further challenged Dr.Spio-Gabrah to prove his skeptics wrong through hardwork, diligence and commitment towards achieving a better Ghana.

''As he joins president Mahama's team as a former communication and education minister we ask him to prove his skeptics wrong through hard work, commitment and diligence to the cause of the NDC government in providing better Ghana for us all'', the NDC group stated.

Meanwhile, a group calling itself Concerned Party Members of the NDC in the Eastern Region is also praising president Mahama for embarking on what it describes as 'the best of reshuffling' ever in his government.

Conveyor of the group Ransford Owusu Boakye said president Mahama's decision to keep Dr.Edward Omane Boamah as the head minister for the merged information-communication ministry clearly depicts the trust he has in him [Omane Boamah].

According to Mr.Boakye Dr.Spio-Gabrah's inclusion in mainstream governance will serve as a boost to the NDC's vision of providing a better Ghana.

''Dr.Omane Boamah displayed quality at the communication ministry it therefore didn't come as a surprise when President Mahama decided that he heads the merged communication-information ministry. Dr.Spio-Gabrah's rich experience could not have been overlooked since he has over the decades shown that he is one who could be relied on for success'', he stated.

Mr.Boakye also commended President Mahama for retaining the likes of Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi, Alhaji Baba Jamal, Julius Debrah and Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere in government.
