Colombo (AFP) - South Africa were 55-2 on Monday when an early lunch was taken following a rain interruption on the fifth and final day of the series-deciding second Test against Sri Lanka.

Quinton de Kock was batting on 28 with skipper Hashim Amla on 4.

South Africa, who are chasing a target of 369, need 314 more runs with eight wickets in hand.

The visitors lead the two-Test series 1-0 after winning the opener in Galle by 153 runs.
