26.07.2014 LISTEN

The Coalition for Peace and Justice for Humanity is delighted for your honoring this invitation, and we sincerely believe without any shred of doubt that you chose to grace this fateful gathering not only as key stakeholders in helping to convey our simple but cogent message to the world, but to also associate yourself toward the numerous calls for a ceasefire in the ongoing Palestine-Israel conflict which is fast rendering humanity (especially on the part of Palestine) into a total state of devastation.

Ladies and Gentlemen, almost everyone on earth has at a point or the other, heard something in relation to this conflict. The ever-growing hatred on both sides and the decades-long process of resolving it which has created another overlapping conflict: managing the very unpleasant Israeli-Palestinian coexistence, in which Israel has put the Palestinians under suffocating military occupation and Palestinian militant groups fighting back at the Israelis.

As we speak, lives and properties are at stake, with women and children being at the receiving end of all manner of atrocities and bombardments as the conflict escalate on each passing day. The lopsided death toll being recorded on a daily basis is extremely worrying and demands the immediate intervention of UN Security Council.

Issuing a mere statement which is not backed by real action on the ground should be the least option to be considered at this point in time. It's our candid view therefore that, the ONLY way to reverse the status quo and to ensure a lasting peace (since both sides have refused to ceasefire) is for UN to deploy a massive military force to take absolute control of the Middle East area whilst the various peace accords continue to undergo implementation.

In this regard, we would like to add our voices in calling on the International Community; Human Rights watch groups and all religious bodies to as a matter of urgency call on the UN Security Council to respond accordingly in order to halt further destruction of lives and properties. Again, whilst we condemn in no uncertain terms the havoc being meted out to the innocent civilians in Palestine by the Israeli forces, and call on their government to ceasefire, we equally extend the same message to the leadership of the Hamas militants to drop their weaponry for peace and tranquility to prevail.

Ladies and gentlemen, the time to stop the incessant bloodshed of innocent people in the Middle East conflict is now!!!

Signed
Dan Saefullah
