The Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Felix Obuah, heartily rejoices and celebrates with Muslim faithful in the State and nation wide as they observe this year's Id el Fitr, which is the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal, marking the end of Ramadan, a month of fasting and communal prayers.
The PDP, in a statement signed by Jerry Needam, Special Adviser on Media to the State Chairman, on behalf of the Party in the State, calls on all Muslims to use the period to rededicate the State to God.
The PDP Chairman notes that a lot of evil and bad governance has been experienced under the present government in the State which calls for prayer of forgiveness for the Governor and those in power, and deliverance of the people who have been subjected to untold hardship as result of the bad governance.
While assuring Muslim residents in the State of continued support and purposeful leadership by the PDP, Chief Obuah urges them not be swayed or despair in the face of the neglect and various cases of oppression by the All Progressives Congress, APC, government in the State but to keep hope with the PDP that will guarantee their good fortune.
The Rivers PDP State Chairman urges the good people of the State, particularly the Christian community to maintain the good and cordial relationship between them and the Muslims which has not been compromised inspite of intimidation by the APC government.
He commends all Muslims for their dedication, peaceful disposition and successful observance of the 31 days fasting, believing that God will answer their prayers accordingly, as in the days ahead, bad governance by the APC will be a thing of the past with the enthronement of a PDP led government in the State.
