Antwi Boasiako takes over as new Eastern Regional Minister

Koforidua, July 24, GNA - Mr Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, the new Eastern Regional Minister, has given a firm assurance that he would continue all programmes that the former minister initiated to ensure continuity and holistic development of the region

That,he said,was out of his belief that his predecessor did the right things considering his passion for development and would therefore not abandon his initiatives but to build upon them for the benefit of the people.

Addressing a short handing over ceremony at Koforidua where Mr Julius Debrah, the Minister offor Local Government and Rural Development and former Eastern Regional Minister, handed over the leadership of the region to him.

He called for teamwork saying 'one person can lead but it takes all to deliver the goal' and urged the media to cooperate with the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to project the region.

Mr Debrah, who headed the region for only four months, thanked all for the support and said despite his short stay such support enabled him to move the region forward and called for the same support for the incoming minister.

He initiated a lot of developmental projects in the areas of tourism and agro-processing which led to several investors visiting the region to access investment opportunities.

Mr Boasiako also comes in with vast experience in public service, having served previously as Deputy Eastern Regional Minster and Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations.
