Frank Adu Jnr., Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CAL Bank Limited, has challenged professors and lecturers of the country's universities not to limit their knowledge to the four corners of their campuses but proffer workable solutions to the economic problems in Ghana.

Mr Adu Jnr, who was guest of honour at the inauguration of the first phase of a GH¢10 million multi-disciplinary facility for the University of Ghana Business School at Legon recently, said professors and lecturers most often remain silent over serious economic issues and leave the discussion to the uninitiated on radio, television and in the print media.

He said the era of political interference or abuse after the discussion of such matters was over.

The CEO said professorial advice was needed to help shape policy decisions of Government currently.

Professor Ernest Aryeetey, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, in an address, commended the dean and faculty members of UGBS for their efforts at helping to complete the first phase of the project.

He said such determination demonstrates the school's mission to lead not only in academics but facilities.

He encouraged the school to regularly revamp its programmes and give students the opportunity to contribute their quota to the local and international community at large.

'I implore the management of the school to develop a maintenance culture that will not render the facilities dilapidated long before its time. In these ways, we can be rest assured that decades from now, we will still want to associate ourselves to UGBS.'

A member of the alumni Association, Dr Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, called on alumni across the world to lend financial support to the development of the school in order to help train students, who can practically solve economic puzzles.

The Dean of UGBS, Professor Kwame Domfeh, urged alumni to continue to support the development of the school to make it highly competitive.
