Let's emulate Mills' selflessness - Faustina Nelson
24.07.2014 LISTEN

A former National Vice Chairperson of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Faustina Nelson is calling for a renewed hope as Ghanaians commemorate the second anniversary of the late President John Atta Mills.

While admitting there are challenges facing the nation, she said Ghana can work again if the citizenry will be “selfless and dedicated” to the cause of development irrespective of political affiliation.

Madam Faustina Nelson made the comment on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, while paying tribute to the late Atta Mills who died exactly two years today.

She described the late president, popularly known as 'Asomdwe Hene' as a “selfless person who sacrificed immensely for Ghana until his sudden demise”.

Madam Nelson believes if Ghanaians emulate such “selfless spirit, soften our hearts and help the government succeed, all our problems will be over”.

She bemoaned the “polarized political system” in the country in the wake of the socio-economic challenges confronting the Mahama-led government.

The NDC woman indicated that everyone on earth will die one day but it is important for politicians to learn to sacrifice irrespective of whoever is in government for Ghana to succeed.

Madam Faustina Nelson said things will get better with time if all Ghanaians decide to contribute their quota and “brighten the corner where you are”.

“President Mahama is doing his best but we need to support him and I know With God all impossibilities are possible” he added.
