JUL 24, 2014 LISTEN

There are tens of thousands of young and old head porters and truck pushers who have no roof over their heads after their daily toils; there are thousands of energetic youth who line up the streets of Accra, Kumasi and other cities to roast in the merciless sun and inhale toxic fumes from vehicles, all in the name of doing business; there are the poor farmer who does not only lose income from the sweat of his labour due to inaccessibility to the market, but who also lost his pregnant wife because there is no health facility or transportation to seek healthcare elsewhere; there are Ghanaian university graduates who have consigned themselves to the fact that it is easier to swim across the Atlantic Ocean with a 50kg bag of cement across tied around your neck than to secure a job in Ghana.

Most Ghanaians have been denied food, water, electricity and healthcare. And you sit in the comfort of the jubilee house and tell me the economic fundamentals are strong? Did you get the message the words of the New Patriotic Party vice-presidential candidate since May 2012, Dr Bawumia has been warning about how the economy is being managed. He constantly argued that the indicators were not matching up to the reality Ghanaians were going through. He was particularly concerned about the mismatch between inflation figures and prices of goods and its relationship with exchange rate etc.

He prophetically declared in his May 2012 lecture that "when you manage an economy with propaganda, the exchange rate will expose you". He predicted this crises and you boldly told us not to mind him because everything is in control. Is this what you claim as the better Ghana?

Demonstrations & strikes all over the country which includes TUC, Chiefs, Middle class workers, students, the old and young and you tell us everything is okay. Fuel price hikes, utility price hikes, depreciating currency with a relatively static wages have conspired to increase the cost of living in Ghana. Prices of goods and services, transport fares have also gone up in the last six months, a situation that has made life unbearable for Ghanaians.

This government is indeed incompetent!!! It has had more money than any government in our history..Ask yourself where's the money? Ghana is so bad that the Somali currency is stronger than the Ghanaian currency. Meanwhile, Somalia has no functioning government for almost two decades and no monetary policy. What excuses do we need to hear of a falling state with a monetary policy? Ghana has become a FAILED State!!! We are fed up with your promises and excuses, walk the talk now. Take action and stop talking action Mr. President!!!!
