IGP, Mohammed Alhassan
Malam Shamuna Ustaz Jibril, the Islamic cleric who predicted a German triumph in the just-ended World Cup tournament in Brazil, says that Ghana will witness an unprecedented number of demonstrations in the next 72 days.

The man, who hails from Bawku in the Upper East Region, but resides in Accra, said he was worried that government does not listen to good counsel regarding matters bordering on the national economy.

He advised the law enforcement agents to be mindful of how they manage the protesting crowds by avoiding the use of excessive force. 'Resorting to the use of warning shots could trigger trouble and so the law enforcement agents should employ maturity in how they control the crows and avoid the temptation to use force or fire shots as this may create avoidable tension,' he said.

Malam Shamuna also called on government appointees to desist from responding to queries through insults, especially on radio, as 'this has the tendency to inflame passions among an already angry people.'

His prognosis for the country is disturbing because according to him, the economic prospects are not good. 'The Cedi will continue to fall,' he predicted.

Turning to the Electoral Commission (EC, he cautioned the organisers of the country's elections to prepare well for the next polls by putting their house in order and avoiding the tendency to cheat as this could plunge the country into avoidable confusion.

'The next three months are going to be more challenging for the country and more Ghanaians would leave for 'greener pastures' elsewhere.

'As a Ghanaian, I call on all to pray to God for His intervention. There should be justice and good governance. Let nobody underrate this message which is not arbitrary, but spiritual. It is my contribution towards the development of my country. I predicted that Ghana would not go beyond the Group Stages in the World Cup tournament and that Germany would lift the Cup, US would beat Ghana; and they all came to pass. 'These messages are spiritual.'

Turning to the missing hiplife artiste - Castro –  Malam Shamuna said he (Castro) and Janet Dandu – the lady who was said to have been jet skiing with him (Castro) on the Volta Lake at Ada – were dead. 'From my spiritual calculations, both he and the lady are dead,' he noted.

The spirit of Castro, he said, was seriously searching for Asamoah Gyan, the Black Stars striker and close pal of the musician, although he (Gyan) was not responsible for what befell him (Castro).

'I advise Asamoah Gyan to steer away from water bodies. The body of Castro would not be found but that of the lady might be found between now and September.

Malam Shamuna has been a regular feature on some radio stations in Accra, especially Blakk Rasta's programme and Hitz FM.
