Commercial drivers under the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) have been directed to park their cars at home in solidarity with the nationwide demonstration by organized labour tomorrow.
This means commuters, including workers who would be part of the demonstration tomorrow would have to find alternative means of transport to their various destination.
Workers are hitting the streets tomorrow to protest the high cost of living triggered by hikes in petroleum products, utilities and depreciating cedi.
The workers claim while prices skyrocket, their salaries have remained static.
The Secretary General of TUC Mr Kofi Asamoah announced the demonstration last week charging all workers-public and private- to join the march for survival.
It appears his call has resonated with a number of the workers union all of which have vowed to be part of the demonstration.
The latest to join is the GPRTU, whose leaders, in a statement, have asked the members to park their cars at home and hit the streets.
General Secretary of the GPRTU, Robert Adjei Brenya later confirmed the directive in an interview with Joy News on Wednesday.
He explained the drivers too have been affected by the dire economic situation in the country.
