All the ten National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional women organizers and their deputies have endorsed the candidature of Mr.Kofi Portuphy,as their national chairman aspirant.

Immediately after the NADMO boss launched his bid to contest for the chairmanship position of the party, all the women organizers numbering 30, held a press conference to declare their unflinching support.

Nana Takyiwa Odeneho, Brong-Ahafo regional women organizer who spoke on behalf of her colleagues who were all present at the function explained that their preferred candidate has served his party and the nation in diverse ways and has proven to be a good material for leadership position.

''Papa Pee [Mr Portuphy] is one of our own.He's been with us through all these decades right from PNDC to NDC.He's served our party in various capacities-as a national vice chairman,head of election directorate of the party and many more. We has proven to be someone whom you can easily access.You know some of our leaders,I mean the national executives are not accessible at all but I can tell you that anytime you want to see Portuphy it's easy to do so.Above all,he has respect for his colleague human being''. Nana Takyiwa Odeneho stated.

According to them,Dr.Kwabena Adjei has contributed his quota to the NDC as national chairman but added that it was time he bows out for a capable person to takeover from him.

''Kwabena Adjei has done his part as chairman of our party since he came office.The party chalked many successes under his leadership but we think there is somebody in our party who can do more than he did,and that person is Sir Kofi Portuphy''. Madam Ama Sarpong,Ashanti regional women organizer explained.

Mr.Kofi Portuphy yesterday announced his bid to contest for the National chairmanship position of the NDC.Many party faithfuls thronged Nima,a surburb of Accra to offer their support.Notable names including,Nana Kodua Kesse,a member of the council of state,Harry Zakkour,a known football administrator and a staunch NDC member,Greater Accra regional chairman of the party,Joseph Ade Coker,Henry Ekow Manly Spain,most National,regional and constituency executives of the NDC among several others.
