NPP Donates Food To Muslims
22.07.2014 LISTEN

The party made this call at the residence of the National Chief Imam and the office of the Al-Sunan Muslim Mission, when its leadership led by the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong, Nasara Coordinator Kamal-deen Abdulai, Greater Accra Regional Nasara Coordinator Alhaji Aminu Abu and the Special Assistant to the General Secretary Musah Superior made a presentation to the National Chief Iman, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu and the Al- Sunan Chief Imam, Sheikh Umar Ibrahim.

Each group received a GH ¢ 1000, 20 bags of rice and hundred litres of cooking oil.

Mr Agyepong prayed to Allah for strength for Ghana's workforce, wisdom for the leaders of the country, prosperity for all and peace for Ghana.

He commended Ghanaian religious faiths for co-existing peacefully.

The NPP, according to Mr. Agyepong, is committed to peace and nation building. He entreated all Muslims to help maintain peace and brotherliness in the country.

He said the gesture was prudent, given the long-standing relationship that had existed between the NPP and Muslim leaders.

Mr Agyepong took the opportunity to formally inform both Imams about the impending election of the party's presidential candidate and asked for prayers for the party.

The Chief Imam expressed his profound appreciation and said that the donation was timely; adding that whatever prayer requests the NPP had made during the period of Ramadan would be answered by Allah.

He prayed for the NPP and asked for Allah's peace and protection for all Ghanaians and political parties and thanked Allah for the peace that Ghana was enjoying, especially in the light of the peaceful coexistence among Muslim and Christian communities.

On his part, the Al-Sunan Chief Imam, Sheikh Umar Ibrahim, advised political parties to jealously guard the peace in Ghana, making reference to the religious conflicts that had plagued other countries in the sub-region.

He also prayed against disunity and called on Muslims and Zongo communities to seek knowledge and education describing the challenges facing them as ignorance, poverty and disease.
