Some residents of six communities in the Ga West Municipality are girding their loins for a show down if work does not start on their road by the end of August, this year.

They stated they would stage a mammoth protest should the government continue to ignore their request.

Reports said the residents blocked the roads with burning lorry tires protesting the poor nature of the road network in that area Monday.

The residents, who ply along the Ablekuma junction to Nsakina through to Amasaman, called on authorities to begin construction works on the road.

Most road networks in parts of the Greater Accra region have gone bad with very deep holes in them.

They told Joy News' Manasseh Azure that due to the poor nature of the road, a pregnant woman was forced to deliver in a moving taxi she had boarded to the hospital.

Some school pupils spoken to also, said they were frustrated with the situation since it affected their education badly.
