The Exceptional Education Excellence Award for 2014 has been presented to Kwasi Enin, for being the first to secure admissions to all eight Ivy League Colleges in the United States of America.

Kwasi Enin, born of Ghanaian parents, received 10 certificates, proclamations, awards and citations at the ceremony organized by the Shanti Fund and the William Floyd School District at the Hyatt Hotel at Long Island, New York.

He was also presented with scholarships, including a $1001.00 (repeat correct figure $1001.00) by the Shanti Fund, dedicated to enlightenment and peace through education.

Addressing the well- attended gathering, including officials of Ghana Mission in New York, district officers, school and community board members, an elated Kwasi was full of gratitude to his parents, teachers , friends, community and church for the honour done him.

He promised to work harder in appreciation of all their encouragement and support.

On behalf of Mr. Ken Kanda, Ghana's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mr. R. Harry Reynolds, Head of Information at the Mission congratulated Kwasi Enin for his unparalleled and spectacular achievement, a feat Ghana was very proud of.

He urged the youth to emulate his shining example in order to have a bright future and to assume their proper places as future leaders.

Mr. Arvind Vora, Board Member of Shanti Fund, said the fund had over the last decade promoted peace through education and therefore felt very proud of Kwasi's wonderful and impressive achievement..

Mr. Ebenezer Enin and Mrs Doreen Enin, parents of Kwasi praised God for the honour done them through their son and thanked the organizers of the event , teachers and community for their tremendous support resulting in this achievement.

The Superintendent of the William Floyd School District, Dr. Paul Casciano said Kwasi is a credit to himself, the family, school, district and community.

Born in Amityville, New York, Kwasi began attending the William Floyd School District in the Third grade at John S. Hobart Elementary School.

Kwasi will attend Yale in the fall and will study molecular biology with the aim of becoming a physician - possibly in the specialty of cardiology or neurology.
