AASU Delegation Calls On The Hon. Minister For Youth And Sports As Well As On The Dean Of African Diplomatic Corps

Within the framework of the preparation of its upcoming 4th Annual African Students and Youth Summit slated for 28th July to 2nd August 2014 in Accra-Ghana, a three man AASU delegation paid a courtesy call on the Ghanaian Minister for Youth and Sports, Mr. Mahama Ayariga, on Thursday 10th July 2014 at his Office. The discussions centered on the forthcoming 4th Summit which is under the theme: Curbing Terrorism Insurgence in Africa- Students and Youth to the Rescue.

The Honorable Minister, moreover a Member of Parliament, thanked AASU for the initiative and assured the delegation of his full support for the successful holding of this 4th Summit by promising among others to participate in it. The AASU delegation included Mr. Awaah Fred from Ghana- Secretary General and leader of the delegation, Mr. Richmond O. Neufville from liberia-Deputy Secretary General and Mr. Joel Edem Amou from Togo-Secretary for finance.

In the same vein, the delegation called on the Dean of African Diplomatic Corps in Ghana, moreover the High Commissioner of Zimbabwe, Mrs. Pavelyn Tendai Musaka on Friday 11th July 2014 at her Office. The Secretary General, after briefing Mrs. Musaka on the significance of the summit and the stage of its preparation, calls for her moral and political supports and urges her to press upon her African colleagues to do same.

On her part Mrs. Musaka expressed her satisfaction on AASU's role in Africa and its initiative to organize such important annual summit for students and the youth in order to imbibe them with the problems confronting the continent and prepare them before taking over the mantle of leadership in Africa. She articulated her full support for the Summit and willingness not to spare any effort to contribute to the success of the Summit.
