Deeper Life Campus Congress Launched

THE DEEPER Life Campus Fellowship (DLCF) under the leadership of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry will this year hold its national campus congress on the theme: 'Restoration of God's Glory Among Intellectuals'.

The event, dubbed 'GLORY 2014', is scheduled to take place from July 16-20, 2014 at the Deeper Life regional camp ground at Brofoyedru, Kumasi.

The life-transforming meeting is expected to attract over 5000 people from the various tertiary institutions, residents of tertiary institutions, lecturers and national service personnel across the country.

Pastor Francis Fosu, National Coordinator of DLCF, outlining the purpose for the event at the media launch said the core mandate of the church is to evangelise the intellectual community to Christ.

He said since the first national event held in 1995, the congress has become an important event that brings members and invitees to one point for sound spiritual lectures.

Pastor Fosu also noted that this year's event would create the platform for reaching out to sinners within the target group for Christ while securing their lives and destinies in their maker.

He said in recent years, tertiary institutions have become places where social vices are nurtured and the highly-educated are being used by the devil.

'It is in this light that the DCLF has made it a mandate to meet the nation's intellectual community every year and influence them with the word of God to enable them to become positive change makers who will capitalise on their knowledge to lead millions to Christ,' he said.

Pastor David Obeng, National Administrator of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, in his address said tertiary institutions are breeding grounds for leaders hence the need to pay special attention to its spiritual needs.

He agreed with Pastor Fosu, adding that in the past, the universities used to be places for sound moral and academic instructions, however, today, very little could be said of the behaviour of both teachers and students.

'The work on our campus is very enormous and we must tackle it with all the passion it deserves otherwise our society is at risk of divine destruction,' he observed.

Members of the intellectual community are entreated to converge at the venue for the well-deserved soulsearching exercise.
