Assembly To Seize Mps Common Over Abysmal Absenteeism

Assembly members in the East Akyem municipality of the Eastern region have thrown their support to the honourable presiding member, Kudjo Adukpo to seize the common fund of members of parliament for Abuakwa north, hon. Joseph Boakye Dankwa Adu and hon. Atta Akyea of Abuakwa south for failing to attend assembly meetings over a year now.

This came into light at the assembly's second ordinary meeting of the year at kibi,the district capital.The presiding member who could no longer stand the pressure from the aggrieved assembly members on the matter proposed that the only way to draw the attention of the parliamentarians is to seize their share of the common fund.Mr. Adukpo said despite numerous invitations the two MPs have remained adamant to their calls and thinks it is time to react since it is even against the laws of the house.

The assembly members however threw their support to the suggestion by the presiding member and called for immediate actions.They expressed worry that the MPs have failed the assembly because they have the mandate to educate the house on issues in parliament.
