Annor Yeboah
Ghanaians yesterday woke up to the shocking news of the death of Apostle Dr Augustine Annor Yeboah, leader of the Christian Praise International Centre (CPIC).

He died in the early hours of yesterday at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

The cause of his death was not immediately known, but a source close to the family said it was kidney-related.

Apostle Annor Yeboah was the former Chairman of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) which has a large following.

He fell out to form the CPIC after a long-drawn leadership crisis had beset the church amidst several allegations.

A family source said he was recovering from an illness until his condition deteriorated Thursday morning when he passed on.

Sometime in April 2013, the deceased was honoured by two academic institutions in the United States of America – Dayspring Christian University (DCU) and the American Association of Christian Therapists (AACT) – which conferred on him a Doctor of Christian Education (Honoris Causa) degree and an Associate Professor respectively.

Apostle Annor-Yeboah was a graduate of the University of Ghana where he earned a B.A. Hons degree in Economics and Geography in 1979.

He also held honorary doctorate degree in Theology from Pentecostal College, Tuskegee, Alabama, USA.

The man of God has severally been described as an iconic Christian leader and a passionate voice of the Word of God, whose services were broadcast on television.
