THE TEMA Regional Police Commander has called on all residents within the Ashaiman municipality and its environs to help the police flush out criminals within the area.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Beatrice Zakpa Vib-Sanziri highlighted the security challenges that were confronting the Ashaiman Division of the police and called on all to help deal with difficulties, and added that 'the haphazard manner in which buildings are sited in Ashaiman is also making response to crime scene very difficult.'

She further also added that some residents of Ashaiman were condoning and conniving with criminals to terrorise the good people of the area 'and our own people fail to give police tip-off to get the miscreants out from the municipality.'

Mrs Vib-Sanziri made the observation during a get-together dubbed West Africa Security Service Association (WASSA) organised by the Ashaiman police to wine, dine together and take stock of stewardship of events and strategise for the future.

The Regional Police Commander mentioned that 'the time has come for us all, to get to know how security is paramount to all of us. I am calling for effective police and civilian collaboration and timely information flow to be offered to the police to enable us to smoke out the few miscreants harassing law abiding citizens in Ashaiman and its environs out.'

She cautioned 'okada' operators against that the use of motorbike for commercial purposes 'because it is unlawful under the motor traffic regulations of the country.'
