The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, says the president's call for political opponents to show respect to each other, is in the right direction.

President John Dramani Mahama, Tuesday, indicated that the use of insults persist and has characterized the country's politics.

Speaking at the Flagstaff House, President Mahama said it is about time politicians saw themselves as friends and not enemies.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of MFWA noted that the use of indecent language come up during political season but where the acts goes out of hand, it becomes an issue of concern.

During political campaign seasons, there was key concern about the use of insults by politicians from all shades of the political divide.

Throughout the political season MFWA launched a campaign to stop the use of insulting language in the media by seeking to name and shame politicians engaging in such activity.

But the Executive Director of MFWA, Sulemana Braimah says the use of indecent language by politicians in the media have reduced considerably.
