Kelly Gunterman the giant of tennis (certified by USPTA and PTR) and the founder of the Tennis Without Borders has donated dozens of tennis rackets to support La Constance Tennis Academy of Akropong Akwapim in Ghana. The donation was made in New York.

The Tennis Without Borders was founded by Kelly after he was invited to Uganda in 2002 to coach the National Team for their Davis Cup. The passion for tennis that he saw even with the limited resources drove him to establish the non-profit organization to support tennis in developing countries and the rest is history. He has been to Ghana multiple times with his friend David Nyarko to participate in tennis coaching and has donated tennis equipment all over Africa.

Receiving the Rackets on behalf of La Constance Tennis Academy, Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo the founder of La Constance Tennis Academy and himself an avid tennis player thanked Kelly for his foresight and help in sustaining the academy. He said with there was a need to help the kids in the village learn tennis and in the process take them off the streets and lead them to a path of good citizenry. He welcomed any help he could get in sustaining the Academy in the village of Akropong, Ghana. It will be recalled that the La Constance Tennis Academy was established through collaboration between the Kwakwaduam Association Inc. of New York and the Management of La Constance Guest House and at the moment has about 25 students. The Academy is free for the students.
