EASTERN CORRIDOR Roads within Accra that need to be fixed immediately; that is from America House to  Haatso/Agbogba/Abokobi/Adenta and beyond: Once the following link roads are tarred there might be less traffic on the main roads thereby extending the lifespan of road networks.

Adjiringanno to School Junction;   UPS to the new Goil Filling Station, University of Ghana, Legon; Madina New Road to Rawlings Circle and its enclaves; Ashalley Botwey School Junction to Ritz Junction; Ritz Junction to Haatso/Agbogba and its enclaves; Ogbodjo Junction to Adjiringanno and its enclaves

Adenta Barrier to Aviation Third Gate; Pantang  Hospital to Abokobi Road; Ahlidja to Container (near De Youngsters Preparatory School, Adenta Market).

Eastern Region:
Dodowa to Somanya Road (it is in very bad condition); Somanya Township to Kpong and Somanya to Akuse Junction; when will that 'German' Bridge be reconstructed?

Mamfe to Koforidua Road (too narrow and dangerous to drive on, especially at night.

Volta Region:
Senchi to Akrade (two pontoons are being operated there to convey people and vehicles across River Volta). A vast area of land has been cleared and chippings spread all over. There is nothing to be apprehensive about. The only worry is the number of hours spent at the riverside. The bus I travelled on spent 2 hours (12:30 to 2:30 pm) on March 28, 2014 before getting on the pontoon, while we waited for our turn to travel to Ho.

Sogakope/Adidome/Adaklu Helekpe to Ho Road (an alternative route but not tarred to perfection). It is in a deplorable state, could otherwise be a perfect and shortest route for now. It is a three-hour journey from Accra to Ho.

Sogakope/Afiadenyigba/Xevi/Kpetoe to Ho Road (another alternative route), this is tarred throughout but a longer journey. It is about three-and-a-half hours journey.

Anyirawase/Bame to Kpedze Road; Sokode to Bame Road;

Since the closure of the Adomi Bridge on March 10, 2014 for major construction works to be carried out, there has been so much anguish and apprehension on the part of indigenes and commuters between Accra and people from the Volta and the Eastern Regions and beyond.

The closure as well is affecting businesses both locally and across borders in diverse ways. According to authorities, the project would take two years to complete. Indigenes' main hawking activities involve selling of 'abolo' – a local maize delicacy – shrimps, fried fish and yam, snails, oysters, sugar/butter bread, provisions and drinks. 'Chop bars' were operated in Atimpoku town big time but those business activities are suffering now.

As at the middle of April this year, the contractor had resumed work on the Sogakope/Adidome/Ho road. We pray it will be completed in good time for commuters to have a reprieve.
