NPP NPP fails to recognize Kufuor's contributions - Kwadwo Mpiani
APR 15, 2014 LISTEN

Former Chief of Staff, Kwadwo Mpiani has bemoaned what he says is the subtle neglect of former President John Agyekum Kufuor by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He said the NPP has failed to recognize the contributions of the former president on whose achievements it campaigned during the 2008 and 2012 elections.

Mr. Mpiani expressed these sentiments, while reacting to claims that a supposed Kufuor camp has an agenda 2020 to ensure the party's 2012 presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo does not win the 2016 elections.

As part of the Agenda 2020, it is alleged that current Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong described as protégés of ex-president Kufuor will ensure their preferred candidate, Alan Kyerematen becomes NPP's flagbearer for the 2016 general elections.

But in a riposte, Kwadwo Mpiani on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme, Tuesday, said such inconsequential issue must be treated with the contempt it deserves.

According to him, former President Kufuor is not interested in any position in the NPP to champion such fictitious course.

The former Chief of Staff expressed disdain about the conduct of the people propagating such vile propaganda against Mr. Kufuor.

“All those circulating such falsehood were made who they are today after serving in the erstwhile Kufuor administration. If you have nothing to honour him [Kufuor], don't tarnish his hard earned reputation”, he stressed.

Kwadwo Mpiani maintained that Mr. Kufuor's greatest hope is to see the NPP back in power and therefore will not do anything to jeopardize that agenda. Story by Ghana/Adomonline.com/Adwoa Gyasiwaa
