Rejoinder: NDC Will Lose Massively In Aflao

We wish to draw your attention to a news item on Adom Fm website on the 2014-03-31 07:30:09 with the caption “NDC WILL LOSE MASSIVELY IN AFLAO” purported to be coming from a self acclaimed registrar at Aflao Traditional Council. We have noted with a very grave concern the way and manner in which the Aflao traditional Council one Samuel Sowah Seshie has conducted himself and the inaccuracies in the story.

Firstly, we were taken a bit aback as to why Samuel Sowah will attack the President John Mahama and the NDC in the Palace of Torgbui Amenya Adzongaga Fiti IV during a conferment of a title on an NPP Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman constituency in the Eastern region, Hon. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw. We are yet to tell the Correlation between Installation of a development Chief and why Chiefs and Elders of Aflao Traditional Area should be threatening the Government of the day for under-development through their Registrar Samuel Sowah Seshie.

In a news headline “ NDC WILL LOSE MASSIVELY IN AFLAO” Speaking on behalf of Chiefs and Elders of Aflao Traditional Area , Mr. Samuel Sowah Seshie blamed President Mahama and the great NDC party for failing the people of Aflao and would be shown where the power lies in the coming 2016 election. He opined that the Government of the day disrespects the people of Aflao Traditional Area. He was quoted as saying, “Aflao do not have a single Factory to employ the youth here, No senior High School… Infact we are deprived and nobody cares for us” He also added that it was NPP under Ex-President Kufour who constructed most of the major town roads whilst NDC over the years won most of the votes but failed to develop Aflao. Mr. Seshie also blamed their challenges on what he described as poor leadership by the NDC Government and his appointees in the area.

On this note, we wish to state here that all his claims are factually incorrect.

Aflao has Diamond Cement factory which was constructed under NDC.

So far only two of the Aflao town roads were constructed namely Lowcost and Beat 9; NPP constructed only the Lowcost road in their 8yrs whilst the Beat 9 Road remain a 4 years legacy of a friend to Torgbui Amenya Adzongaga Fiti IV, Prof. John Evans Atta Mills of blessed Memory and soon to be added is the Ewotsige road through the beach to border.

In a separate development, He was heard on Radio stations castigating the MP of the area, Hon. Fifi Kwetey and his aides for being liars and failures. His reasons were that Hon. Fifi Kwetey failed to convince the NDC Government to absorb Aflao Senior High School but shamefully admitted taking money from Hon. Fifi Kwetey to connect the school to the national grid on their first meeting to discuss issues affecting the said school. Isn't this ironical?

Mr. Seshie seems to have little or no idea of Aflao Senior High School and yet went public to disgrace himself; we therefore wish to use this opportunity to educate him that the problem with Aflao Senior High School has to do with relocation. A team of consultants from Ministry of Education , Accra came to inspect the school as a laid down procedure to absorbing the school but proposed that the school be relocated to a standard land size to suit a required criterion of Senior High School to enable the Ministry of education proceed with other processes to absorbing it. We will urge Mr. Samuel Sowah to direct his energies into satisfying the conditions demanded by the Consultants from Accra than ranting on our airwaves ignorantly.

Hon. Fifi Faivi Kwetey is determined to leave a mark in the sands of time when it comes to Education and through his instrumentality; one of the first 100 Community Senior High Schools has been allocated to Aflao.

Why is it that Hon. Fifi's reign as an MP poses a lot of nightmare to some people including elders who should be supporting him to ameliorate the plight of their people?

Samuel Sowah Seshie in his 12 years as an Assembly member of Huime Electoral Area cannot even boast of a toilet facility in the area yet was quick to accuse our MP for failing in his two out of the four years mandate. He was heard on radio saying “Nusi ke ne tsoa aʋa ne esɔa, ele esɔ ŋutɔ ƒe dɔme”. It was refreshing hearing him stating that categorical meaning he knows the repercussion of his lies. Mr. Samuel Sowah should know that he who seeks equity must first come with clean hands. Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey will not sacrifice the development of his constituency for individuals and we are ever ready to battle anyone who tries to hold the municipality aback for his personal gain.

We are respectfully calling on the Paramount Chief of Aflao Traditional State, The great Torgbui Amenya Adzongaga Fiti IV to distance the Aflao state from statements made by Samuel Sowah Seshie because his statements were completely erroneous, malicious and objectionable and if left will create bad blood between the Aflao state and the NDC Government. Meanwhile, Checks at the Palace indicate that Mr. Samuel Sowah Seshie is not the Registrar for the traditional council.

We wish we had the resources to remodel our municipality overnight. Development is a gradual process and we will strive hard to advocate and bring radical change to our Municipality.

The MCE, the MP under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama are focused on developing the municipality and we wish to reiterate the Presidents promise that every campaign pledge to the constituency would be fulfilled since the municipality is a core area of the party.
