Padmon Kwame Anson of Hello Fm, a Kumasi-based radio station, was on April 1, 2014 hospitalized at the Mankranso District Hospital after being subjected to severe beatings.

He had gone into the community to cover a press conference of some concerned NDC youth over calls for the restatement of the former District Chief Executive (DCE), Gabriel Barimma, aka 'Tweaaa DCE.'

The suspects are Rafus Raman, Constituency Youth Organizer; Alex Nyamekye, Assemblyman of Mankranso Beposo Electoral Area and Yusif Adams, an ex-community police officer.

They were initially arrested, and later granted a police enquiry bail, and are due for court this morning following the conclusion of investigations by the police.

The NDC activists were said to be against the press conference that was seeking to dismiss calls for the reinstatement of Mr. Gabriel Barimma.

The 'Tweaaa' DCE was given a sack by President John Mahama for not conducting himself well at a durbar, which became a thorny issue in the country.
