The People of Gonjaland converge at Daboya in the North Gonja District of Northern Region for the 38th Annual Easter Congress of the Gonjaland Youth Association from Thursday 17th April to Saturday 19th April, 2014.
The Congress under the theme “Quality Education in Gonjaland, Prospects and Challenges” will have President John Dramani Mahama as the special guest of honour.
The congress would afford the various youth Associations in Gonjaland a unique opportunity to socialize, discuss and share experiences and challenges in the course of the previous year. It also serves as a platform for unifying the people of Gonjaland gives the people an opportunity to share their plans and experiences towards the development of the area.
A number of activities such as a Gala Football match between all Districts in Gonjaland, visitation of Tourist Sites in the area, show case of the famous Gonja smock mostly made in Daboya and a General Assembly Meeting of the Gonjaland Youth Association, a musical Concert by All Musicians from Gonjaland, Cultural Display by some traditional groups and a launch of “Jakpa Magazine” .
The activities will be climaxed by a durbar of the Chiefs and people of Gonjaland on Saturday 19th April, 2014.
