Ghanaian Students on scholarship abroad are appealing to President John Mahama to give merciful ears to their grievances which they have expressed consistently to the various Ghana Embassies abroad but to no avail.

The woes of these poor students continue to deepen as days go by since according to them, several letters written to the GetFund, the Scholarship Secretariat as well as the office of the Chief of Staff have yielded no positive responses.

With this development, the students are facing numerous problems and are going through hell in order to meet their needs.

Information gathered suggests that students sent to various countries pay for their own accommodation because donor countries have failed to do so as promised.

According to reliable sources, the remuneration given to the students is very little and has not been reviewed for the past ten years and considering the cost of living and standard of living in those countries they are left with no option than to face the unexpected.

Due to the lack of funds, Ghana Embassies are compelled to stop some students from continuing their education after first degree and even those who are fortunate to stay after their first degree to finish with their master's or doctorate, they are usually stripped off their normal living allowances including air ticket and shipment allowance.

This situation bothers the students so much and they revealed they are not happy at all.

They argued that those who repeat their class for a hundred times and eventually finish are paid every Pesewa that they deserve, but the hard working student will have nothing to write home about.

"We feel we have been neglected and most of us are considering not coming back for the course of study because we are left with nothing at all to cushion us," some of the students, who spoke on very strict conditions of anonymity, expressed.
