Coordinator Of Peace And Justice Commission Must Resign
04.04.2014 LISTEN

Dear Laura Anyola Tufoin,
I met you a year ago when I was attracted to the human rights disaster being created in Wumse-Ndzah by your employer, the Archbishop of Bamenda.

I came to inquire whether you knew how the Archbishop was acquiring Mbororo land and you confessed to me that you were not at all aware of the modus operandi of the Archbishop. After I briefed you on what was happening on the Mbororo land you bowed your head in remorse.

Since January 2013, I have been to your office over a dozen times and have copied you all official correspondences so that you could best inform and educate your employer.

As a jurist, you are aware of the violations of the laws (Canon code of Laws, Land Tenure Law, Penal Law, UNO Declaration on Human Rights, international conventions and covenants binding on Cameroon) by your Archbishop, your employer.

The preamble of our discussion on the first day pointed out how the actions of the Archbishop were contrary to the Mission of the Commission for Peace and Justice established by His Grace Paul Verdzekov (the only Man of God who presided over the Bamenda archdiocese). Taking the land where Mbororo have settled and recognized as owners since 1904 is unjust and threatens the peace of a conflict-prone region and the North West of Cameroon.

Your job description says you are the Commissioner for human rights. You have won recognition from the government of the United States of America for your work to stop Child Trafficking in the South West and North West regions which make up the Bamenda Archdiocese. Vice President Biden honored you in the USA recently.

I believed you were a powerful presence to advice both your employer and the lay people of the sacrosanct role of justice in the promotion of peace.

On 19 March 2014, I played the dumb and dutifully called to inform you that caterpillars sent by the archbishop were going up to the Mbororo land to demolish houses. You told me you were out of the office. For two weeks since the first attempt to demolish the houses was halted, you have not found time to go up to Wumse-Ndzah to assess the human rights situation.

Yesterday, 3 April 2014 when Mbororo houses were demolished, I called you to warn that this will be an affront to human rights in Cameroon and the world. You could not say you were out of town because I called you on your office phone. You asked me to talk to the archbishop directly. When I insisted that you put through my call to him you said I should call his office. I requested the number of his office and you said you could not give me the number. Understandably! When you further said the Archbishop was away from the office, insinuating that he will not be aware, I rebutted whether he wanted to pretend that he was not aware. You rudely dropped the phone.

The Archbishop was the one who personally carried food to the gendarmes and caterpillar operators at Wumse-Ndzah yesterday. He was commandeering the commission of this serious crime against humanity.

After the destruction of the Mbororo houses yesterday, they slept in the cold and you have not bothered to pay them a visit.

What do you think will happen to the hundreds of children whose homes have been demolished by your employer, the archbishop? These children would surely become child prostitutes, sold into slavery or be trafficked.

The gendarmes were seriously corrupted to flout the court injunctions brought to Wumse-Ndzah to stop the demolition. They announced to the sheriff-bailiffs that they were not taking orders from the court.

It would seem the Archbishop has created a state within the State of Cameroon as he is readily contemptuous of the courts of the land. The injunction from the highest court of the land (Administrative Court of the North West Region) was ignored. Rulings of other courts were ignored. Your archbishop has corrupted the administration of the North West region and all law enforcement services.

Even after destroying all Mbororo houses, no Catholic University of Cameroon would be built on the land. Houses would be built for the Mbororo and I would vigorously campaign for the dissolution of the Catholic University of Cameroon. The university under Fontem Esua as its chancellor will be forming and fabricating intelligent monsters. These type of monsters are a threat to the world. They are the plague that Cameroon is suffering from today. Even former seminarians are among the monsters destroying Cameroon. What will be the use of another university built on the blood and ashes of the Mbororo?

The Queen of Sciences is Theology (Science of God). All great universities are built on the foundations of theology. Your archbishop snubs theology.

The Code of Canon Law authorizes the church to acquire goods pursuant to the laws of the State (cf Canon 1259). Let me not assume that you have seen this law. I will quote it here.

Can. 1259 The church may acquire temporal goods in any way in which, by natural or positive law, it is lawful for others to do this.

Cameroon Land Tenure Laws proscribe the alienation, attachment, prescription or expropriation of Land in Category ONE for any purpose. The Mbororo land is in Category ONE. The Mezam Divisional Prefectural Order of 2009 requested the D.O. of Bamenda III to identify land in Category TWO for demarcation for the Catholic University of Cameroon. The distinction of these categories is clear and as a jurist, you could have informed the archbishop even though he has lawyers.

On 16 April 2013, the Mbororo and myself met the Archbishop in the offices of the Senior Divisional Officer (S.D.O) of Mezam. We informed him that the Mbororo present at the meeting (scores of them were still waiting outside) and hundreds more who could not attend the meeting were living on the land.

A few days after, your employer, the archbishop deceived public opinion by granting an interview to the Catholic newspaper, L'Effort Camerounais stating that the land was empty.

Indeed, your Archbishop has transformed the land into desolation and empty land by demolishing the Mbororo houses yesterday, 3 April 2014. His Grace? Cornelius Fontem Esua has crucified Jesus Christ for the second time. I am sure if Christ came back today, Fontem Esua would crucify him again.

How Cornelius qualified to be selected as a diocesan will never be answered. Paragraph 2 of Canon 425 states: As diocesan administrator a priest is to be elected who is outstanding for doctrine and prudence.

His Grace? Cornelius Fontem Esua, lacks both doctrine and prudence. he should be chased from the pulpits like his counterpart His Grace? Tonye Bakot was chased from the Yaounde Archdiocese

Dear Laura, to deserve your distinctions and reputation you must now resign from your position at the Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of Bamenda.
