From April 6-8, 2014, the University of São Paulo Medical School will promote the World Health Summit Regional Meeting - Latin America (WHSRMLA), a medical and scientific forum, held at the Centro de Convenções Rebouças, to discuss the health challenges in Latin America.

The event will propose advices to improve the health systems in the region

With increasing population rates, megacities present urban and public health problems - to which this meeting wants to find solutions.

Additional topics include:
- Neuropsychiatric Disorders
- Health Systems and Universal Health Coverage
- Drugs - Crack
- Improvement of Prevention and Outcomes in Cardiovascular Diseases

- Prevention of Avoidable Blindness and Visual Impairment

- Mental Health and Urban Life
- Strategies to Control Cancer
- Air Pollution, Climate Change and Mobility in Megacities

- Assessment and Financing to Incorporate New Technologies for Health

in Latin America

Concluding this high profile meeting, a document will be issued to communicate main advices to improve the health systems in Latin America.

Since its inauguration in 2009, the World Health Summit is being held annually in October in Berlin, Germany, and brings together opinion leaders from academia, politics, civil society, and the private sector to take responsibility in all health related challenges worldwide.
